Along with Mrs Margaret Humphreys (widow of Phillip Humphreys,Form 1A
1937) and my wife, Fay, I attended the reunion.
After signing in, the first couple we met was George Edwards and his
wife. George was in the form ahead of mine and a great friend of Henry
Thompson of Form 1A, 1937, see
Henry.

We found our way to a table reserved for pre-WWII students, teachers and students of the Technical College commercial Classes. Seated at the table were George Kemp, 1932, and Arthur Cooling, 1939, with their wives. Arriving later were a former student of the Commercial classes and Jackie Johnson, of the Redhill Centre for Loacal and Family History. There was no room for any more and the only other person to approach the table was a man with an identification tag annotated master, who stated to one of the women "I am supposed to be at this table" and promptly walked away. I was later to find out from a report in the Surrey Mirror that there were other pre-WWII OB at the reunion - where did they sit? I was disappointed that again, as at the 2000 reunion, there were no other contemporaries of 1A, 1937 present. I was pleased to meet with Brian Buss and his wife Joyce. Brian and Joyce were great friends of my younger sister Peggy. Peggy, now deceased, taught Commercial Classes at the Technical College.
As the afternoon progressed, John Chadd, year 1962, the youngest OB
at the reuinion, approached our table to meet with George Kemp, the oldest
OB at the reunion. They are pictured below.

After speeches all were asked to assemble outside for a photo opportunity.
A great photo of the assembly was printed in the Surrey Mirror, 8th of
June edition. I took the picture below.
